2017 Year in Review Women's Franchise Network Tampa Bay

Letter from the Chair of the Women’s Franchise Network, Tampa Bay Chapter

As 2017 comes to a close, I want to thank the Women’s Franchise Network Tampa Bay members, sponsors and committee for a phenomenal year.

Twenty Seventeen has been an amazing journey… we started the year with our March program hosted and sponsored by Medi-Weightloss® Corporate Headquarters. Our guest speaker Heidie Nesset, from Step Up For Students discussed Empowerment and Empowering Families & Students. Our group learned about two Scholarship Options Empowering Families & Students 1. Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program 2. Gardiner Scholarship Program; And how the franchise community can provide additional opportunities for their employees and/or get involved with this great non-profit.

In June it was all about the fun and socializing. Our event was held at Pinot’s Palette, in St. Petersburg, Florida. Our canvas was wine glasses. Some true painting talent come out at this event.

November’s event was all about giving back to our local communities. We held our third annual charitable and networking event for Dress for Success Tampa Bay which was hosted and sponsored by Checkers & Rally’s Restaurants. We had some phenomenal door prizes too! Don & Nicole Blake, Franchise owners of Amazing Lash Studio, Carrollwood location, and Massage Envy, Citrus Park location donated an Amazing Lash Studio gift certificate and a Massage Envy gift certificate and the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina donated to our program too. The excitement and energy at this event was over the top.

We topped off the year with our Holiday Party, for the past 4 years the Women’s Franchise Network Tampa Bay and the Franchise Business Network held a joint holiday party and this year we adopted the Blossom Montessori School for the Deaf. Here we took the time to give back again to our community and to enjoy the evening networking with our fellow franchisees in the Tampa Bay area and reflect on the success of 2017.

We know that because of the efforts of our remarkable group, not only did we have an awesome year, we grew our local chapter by four new members, came together as a team to have exceptional educational, social, and charitable events, and we added two new members to our committee. Please join me and Deidra Demps in welcoming to our committee for 2018 Ursula Lane, Sr. Manager of Franchise Recruitment at Checkers & Rally’s Restaurants and Liane Caruso, Digital Director of Professional Services at QiiGo.

We appreciate our members and their commitment to the Women’s Franchise Network Tampa Bay Chapter, LLC. We post articles and event information about the Women’s Franchise Network Tampa Bay on our Facebook page. Please like us on FB: IFAwfnoftampabay.
