As chair of the IFA Women’s Franchise Network Tampa Bay Chapter, November 16, 2017 we held our third annual Dress for Success Tampa Bay (DfS) Charitable & Networking Event sponsored and hosted by Checkers & Rally’s Restaurants, whose corporate offices are located in Tampa Florida. Can you say AMAZING? We had a group of 26 women within the franchise community/industry who came together to support this local chapter of Dress for Success donating clothes, shoes, accessories and so much more.
This was a tremendous charitable & networking event bringing together women in franchising to network, learn and share their talent. Checkers & Rally’s Restaurants, gladly offered to sponsor and host the event at their Restaurant Support Center. Joining us from the Checkers & Rally’s family was Terri Snyder, EVP & Chief Marketing Officer, Jennifer Durham, SVP & Chief Development Officer, Ursula Lane, Sr. Manager of Franchise Recruitment, and Iris Diaz, Lead Qualification Specialist . So ladies, thank you very much for your support and participation.
We had a great overview of what this incredible organization is about and how it supports the community from Towera Loper, Dress for Success Outreach Coordinator. Then, we learned about the Moving Forward Job Search Training Program with Vernell King, who is a Graduate of the program and now works with Dress for Success. She shared a moving story of one never knows where our lives will take us. Vernell said she never thought she would be in a situation where she would need a program like this, but life has other things in store for us and grateful to DfS for the opportunity to learn and give back.
We had some awesome door prizes too. Don & Nicole Blake, Franchise owners of Amazing Lash Studio, Carrollwood location, and Massage Envy, Citrus Park location and our newest member, donated an Amazing Lash Studio gift certificate for a full set of Eyelash Extensions plus one refill service and a Massage Envy gift certificate with a choice of a Massage, Stretch Session, Customized Facial or Men’s Facial, and the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina donated to our group a complimentary one night stay. The excitement when we were calling the winners was infectious just like the event.
At the end of the evening, we exchanged business cards and scheduled our next event. See you December 5, 2017.
This event was a success because women in franchising came together to help one another. So thank you all for investing the time and resources to help recognize and appreciate we are all part of a bigger force.
